I painted “Love At Home” with my mother sitting close by, observing. I chose to leave the painting “unfinished” as a way to help me make peace with the unfinished nature of my work as a homemaker. Centuries of women echo this cry - “My work is never done!!” Stray socks, dirty dishes, outgrown clothes and the next meal to plan.

This painting was an attempt to see the beauty in what I am creating and sustaining, even though my work is “never done.” It’s not about the stray Amazon boxes or the unfolded laundry. It’s about the love and learning that is taking place.

There is beauty ALL around. There is joy in EVERY sound - when there’s Love at Home.
